Foxhound    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Chuck is about 3 years old. Was originally adopted from Austin Pets Alive. He has been in a home with another dog and a small child. He does well with children. He has been boarded several times as well. He has separation anxiety, therefore I think he would do best in a home without other animals. He is very chilled out most of the day. We tried rehoming him in a home with 3 other dogs and it did not go very well. He was very upset. I believe before we adopted him he was abused as a puppy. He is very timid around adults he does not know. Thunder makes him shake! Our daughter has a severe pet allergy and we are struggling to keep it under ... (Read More)control. Please help! (Less)

Briley is just about the best little dog anyone could ask for. She is pure white with ginger markings. She is house trained/crate trained and never barks when in her crate. On top of that, she is a neat freak. She is the first dog I have ever seen that will walk around a mud puddle to avoid getting her feet wet. She walks well on a leash and loves stuffed animals and toys. I have quite a crew at my house. She is very playful when outside and can hold her own with the larger dogs yet she is very gentle and sweet with my little ones. With people, she is somewhat reserved but has a cute quirky personality. People that like a calmer dog would ... (Read More)really like Briley. I cannot say enough good things about this girl. PIease Read Before Adopting a Foxhound in Texas
Foxhound Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The American Foxhound is a fierce pack hunter with a gentle and affectionate disposition when among people. Foxhounds are especially sociable with other dogs. This breed is a natural hunter and is not a good choice for a household with pets other than dogs. American Foxhounds are generally good with children. Some are very protective and others are friendly toward strangers. The American Foxhound can be somewhat difficult to housebreak, will follow interesting scents, and may take off after squirrels, etc. These dogs are best suited to a home with some acreage.

lnteresting Foxhound Trivia Low-Cost Texas Spay & Neuter Clinics
The American Foxhound is descended from English Foxhounds which came to America in the mid seventeenth century. The first American Foxhound was bred from an English Foxhound and a French hound given to George Washington by Lafayette. American Foxhounds were once used to track Native Americans. The American Foxhound has an unusual bay.
