Rescue Me ID: 15-07-24-00406Chippie (female)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi! I'm Chippie. I was busted out of doggy jail by a nice lady and now I'm living with my foster family! I heard them saying I'm an 8 month old lab/hound mix and that I'll grow into my pretty blonde ears. My older foster sisters are teaching me what it's like to be a doggie in the real world. I've learned that we go to the bathroom outside, we sleep quietly at night (even though I'm in a crate), and that it's OK to play nonstop! I love chasing them around outside but when I'm inside I love just hanging on my dog bed with some toys. They also taught me that the cats are complex creatures, but it's best to just ignore them. My foster parents ... (Read More)are some working folks, so I hang out in my crate during the day but all is fine by me! Come meet me at the adoption center this weekend and I'll show you that I already know how to sit! PUPPIES: Young puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vaccinated. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. ADOPTION FEE: $200 (includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, medicines and other medical procedures, if necessary) ADOPTION CENTER: 5533 Weslayan St. in the Weslayan Plaza Shopping Center Houston, TX 77005 HOURS: Saturdays 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Rescue Me ID: 15-06-26-00604Dee Dee (female)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by my page. My name is DeeDee, and I'm a hound dog. Not the naughty kind that Elvis sang about, but the really sweet and funny kind! Not too awfully long ago I found myself at Harris County Animal Shelter. Someone who works there saw my potential to be the perfect family pet, and she had me spayed and worked really hard to help me find my family. Sometimes finding your family takes more time than dogs like me are given at Harris County (if you know what I mean - so scary!). Lucky for me, though, a really nice lady with K-9 Angels came to my rescue and found a foster family for me to live with until my ... (Read More)forever family finds me. There are four other dogs in my foster home, and I get along with all of them well. They are much older than me and don't like to play much, so I find ways to play by myself. I like to throw a ball up in the air and catch it or chase it down if I miss; I really like to chew on antlers and rawhides; and I like to collect toys in my crate. It would be fun to have a furry playmate, but I really wouldn't mind being the only four-legged in the house. I'm a little shy when I first meet you, but I warm up quickly and will give you as many kisses as you want plus 10! Running is one of my favorite things to do with humans, and I've been told that I'm a great running buddy. Sometimes I start with a sprint, but will quickly adjust to your pace. Riding in the car is also a whole lot of fun, especially when you let me put my head out the window, so I can feel the wind on my face - I'm in Heaven! As active as I can be, I can be equally chill. Snuggling on the sofa to watch a movie is always nice, especially when I can put my head in your lap and you scratch my ears or rub my tummy. It's probably fair to say that I am not a 'morning dog.' I won't be one of those dogs that wakes you up early to feed me or take me outside - you'll have to wake me up and coax me out of bed. I am house trained, and I love my crate. I know a couple of commands like 'sit,' 'off,' 'kennel,' and 'load up' (car ride!). We are working on others, and we are working on my leash etiquette, too. I'd rather run than walk, and I'm trying really hard to let Foster Mom set a slower pace. When you come home from work or wherever else you been, I'll greet you with a little 'welcome home' bark to let you know how happy I am to see you. Other than that, I'm not much of a barker, which I'm told is unusual for hound dogs like me. Please accept my invitation to meet at the K-9 Angels Adoption Center, so you can see for yourself what a great girl I am. And please let everyone you know that DeeDee and her K-9 Angels buddies are looking for their forever families - I just know they are out there somewhere! Dee Dee is a female hound mix we believe was born around October 1, 2014 and currently weighs 57 pounds. Dee Dee is heartworm negative, spayed, and ready to find her furever family. Will you be the lucky one? PUPPIES: Young puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. Rescue Me ID: 15-06-09-00744LADY (female)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

My name is Lady and I have been on the streets for awhile. I'm around 3 or 4 years old, am spayed and have had my first round of shots. I found my way to the CURRENT offices and they were nice enough to clean me up and find me a foster home. I am a hound mix and I'm very relaxed and loving. I weigh about 85 pounds right now, but I'm pretty skinny and am eating a lot to gain some weight back. At my new home, I love to lay on the porch, love on my family and roll in the grass. I am so grateful to the nice people that are helping me and I can't wait to love my new family. I will be the best companion to someone and a great addition to ... (Read More)any home. I love kids and other dogs. I'm very gentle with them. I have loving eyes and just want to find a family that I can love and be a part of. (Less)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Briley is just about the best little dog anyone could ask for. She is pure white with ginger markings. She is house trained/crate trained and never barks when in her crate. On top of that, she is a neat freak. She is the first dog I have ever seen that will walk around a mud puddle to avoid getting her feet wet. She walks well on a leash and loves stuffed animals and toys. I have quite a crew at my house. She is very playful when outside and can hold her own with the larger dogs yet she is very gentle and sweet with my little ones. With people, she is somewhat reserved but has a cute quirky personality. People that like a calmer dog would ... (Read More)really like Briley. I cannot say enough good things about this girl. I do require a fenced yard. No invisible fences, and a home visit is required. More photos and a video available upon request. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Foxhound in Texas
Foxhound Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The American Foxhound is a fierce pack hunter with a gentle and affectionate disposition when among people. Foxhounds are especially sociable with other dogs. This breed is a natural hunter and is not a good choice for a household with pets other than dogs. American Foxhounds are generally good with children. Some are very protective and others are friendly toward strangers. The American Foxhound can be somewhat difficult to housebreak, will follow interesting scents, and may take off after squirrels, etc. These dogs are best suited to a home with some acreage.
