|Rescue Me ID: 15-03-12-00529Sunday (male)|
Beautiful 2 yr old American Fox Hound mix. We took him to prevent him from going back to the pound, but currently cannot give him the space he needs. He is the sweetest dog ever, a true cuddle bug. Sunday does best when able to exercise regularly and with a family that can give him the attention he deserves (he'll love you immediately if you'll let him put his head in your lap.) He has lived with a little puppy and a little cat and had no issues. He does not bark, is crate trained (loves his crate), and is currently undergoing obedience training (sits, stays, lays down, shakes, and does very good with heel.) He is incredibly smart and aims to please. He would be the perfect dog for a family with a small yard and children older than infants. The nature of his breed and age is that he needs regular exercise. If he gets 30 minutes outside per day, he is very mellow and wants to cuddle the rest of the day. If not, he can get hyper. Simply send us an e-mail and we will respond with a few questions. We would also like to have, at least, a phone call in advance to confirm he is going to a good home. He will come with everything you need for him and will not need vaccinations or a check-up for another year. He just received his 3 year rabies vaccination. (Less)

|Animal ID: 8124486Bo-Pup (male)|
Bo is literally a 'big baby' - at just 6 months of age he's already weighing in at about 45 lbs.! Hard to believe that this sweet, wiggly lovebug was left chained outside with no food, water or shelter ... but thank goodness his owner was given such a stiff fine that he didn't bother to reclaim Bo from the pound. Bo recently made the long trip north in search of his new family, so please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to see if Bo is the dog for you! (Local adoptions preferred - Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events (http://almosthomedogrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/events), where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they'll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm ; scroll down and click on the 'Invisible Fencing Systems' link. We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com . To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. (Less)

Foxhound Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The American Foxhound is a fierce pack hunter with a gentle and affectionate disposition when among people. Foxhounds are especially sociable with other dogs. This breed is a natural hunter and is not a good choice for a household with pets other than dogs. American Foxhounds are generally good with children. Some are very protective and others are friendly toward strangers. The American Foxhound can be somewhat difficult to housebreak, will follow interesting scents, and may take off after squirrels, etc. These dogs are best suited to a home with some acreage.
