Rescue Me ID: 16-06-28-00159Hoover (male)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Meet Hoover, a 2-3 year old Hound mix who weighs approximately 50 pounds. This awesome pup LOVES to go on car rides. As soon as you grab the door handle, he's ready to jump in. If you like to travel and want a companion, Hoover would be more than happy to ride shotgun. At the end of the day, you can find him right next to you snuggled on the couch. He gets along with other dogs but prefers a calmer, more laid back companion. Hoover is housebroken and crate trained. He is heartworm positive and undergoing treatment while in foster care. This sweet guy is neutered, current with vaccinations, and fostered in Dover, PA. We are PA Caring ... (Read More)for K-9's, an all breed dog rescue. PIease Read Before Adopting a Foxhound in Pennsylvania
Foxhound Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The American Foxhound is a fierce pack hunter with a gentle and affectionate disposition when among people. Foxhounds are especially sociable with other dogs. This breed is a natural hunter and is not a good choice for a household with pets other than dogs. American Foxhounds are generally good with children. Some are very protective and others are friendly toward strangers. The American Foxhound can be somewhat difficult to housebreak, will follow interesting scents, and may take off after squirrels, etc. These dogs are best suited to a home with some acreage.
