Brooke came to the shelter on 11/16/16 after being found as a stray. Shortly after, came her sister that had also been running, who we named Queenie. Luckily for Queenie, she has been adopted, but Brooke is still waiting. Brooke is an average energy dog who loves to play fetch and go for walks. She would be the perfect addition to any family.

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-16-00296Kona (male)

Foxhound    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kona is our family pet. We adopted Kona when he was 6 months. He was returned for being aggressive with owner. SPCA told us the original owner locked in in bathroom all day only letting him out for bathroom breaks. Kona lived with us (me my wife, and 4 year old boy and 1 year old boy with no aggression issues). Kona has been safe and aggression free now for 6 years. My 4 year old kept letting him escape and when he did Kona would run right out onto the main road every time. Very risky for Kona's safety. My sister has been watching hims for me and Kona has been having an issue with the other dog my sister owns. The other day Kona bit the ... (Read More)other dog causing blood. We do not want to get rid of him but my sister can not keep him any longer. I believe his heart is still kind and if adopted by a person without other dogs or kids who can work with him, then Kona will be happy again. Looking for adult owner with no kids or dogs but lives away from a big city. (Less)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Candy is a 4 1/2 year old, 46lbs, mostly American Foxhound with a face and disposition to match her name. Very sweet, affectionate, and social. She will bring you her toys when she wants to play and if you don't want to, she'll amuse herself. She would love a fenced yard to run in and is very canine-social. She loves to ride in the car. She does very well with older children (7+) but hasn't had much exposure to babies and toddlers so we aren't sure how she would be with younger children. She has been a much loved member of our family, but health issues have warranted our seeking a new home for our Candy. We would love to have her with a ... Hatfield, PA is a small community just off of Rte 309 south & west of Quakertown or just off the NE extension of the PA turnpike. Call & come by for a get acquainted visit. I'll will offer to pay all the donate fees to Rescue Me so Candy can find a good home. (Less)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm DAISY MAE, and I'm a relaxed, gentle soul who would love to be part of your family. I'm very slender and leggy, and have a beautiful tri-color coat. (Us girls always try to look our best.) I'm trying to watch my girlish figure and I'm a bit of a picky eater. (I would never wolf down my food like some other dogs who are completely uncouth, in my opinion.) I liked to dine privately when I can. I do love children and dogs and am a polite houseguest. (My momma taught me well.) I've got a lot of energy because I'm only a 1-year-old, so I'd like to be with an active family that wants to play with me, take long walks, and do fun things. I've ... (Read More)gotten some schoolin' so I know some commands, am crate trained, and ride well in the car. Humans say I'm a beauty and a belle. Are you the fine family who wants to take this young lady home? DAISY MAY is spayed, heartworm negative and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee is $395. Please note that training is highly recommended for all young dogs. As with all rescue animals, breed determination cannot be validated without genetic testing. PIease Read Before Adopting a Foxhound in Pennsylvania
Foxhound Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The American Foxhound is a fierce pack hunter with a gentle and affectionate disposition when among people. Foxhounds are especially sociable with other dogs. This breed is a natural hunter and is not a good choice for a household with pets other than dogs. American Foxhounds are generally good with children. Some are very protective and others are friendly toward strangers. The American Foxhound can be somewhat difficult to housebreak, will follow interesting scents, and may take off after squirrels, etc. These dogs are best suited to a home with some acreage.
