Hi there I'm Piper! I'm a 1 year old, 50lb ball of love that's looking for my forever family. My friends think I'm a mix between a Husky and a Foxhound. I do love to play and socialize, but I have a great energy because I can also mellow out and just hang. I love to sniff everything (hey, its the hound in me!) and I love to play with my dog friends. I'm really friendly to all people and surprisingly for a dog of my breed, I don't bark much at all! I'm an all around fun, sweet, silly, awesome girl, and I think I'll be a great addition to your family. Please contact my foster if you're interested in finding out more about me! ...     A family wanted to adopt him, READ...its about the cat.... update on Ro: He is a very sweet boy with a great temperament. He has been getting along well with the kids and our other dog. He is very laid back during the day and just flows through the sometimes hectic schedule. He loves playing in the back yard with our other dog and kids. Since he's been here, he feels to have gained some of the weight back to have a more healthy feel to him. Unfortunately, our cat is a different issue. Despite various attempts and techniques, I don't think he is going to be comfortable enough around the cat to be trusted to roam the house and keeping them ... (Read More)permanently separated is not an ideal solution. I think the best permanent solution will be for Ro to be in a home without cats. It would break our hearts to see him go back to the kennel. His personality is completely different here at the house than it was when we met him at the kennel twice. (so we need a FOSTER) Original Post: Another sweet hound , a stray, on his 'last ride' to my vet who asked LMR to save him because he is such a sweet boy! He is a young adult and is full grown at 50 lbs! He needs a foster, even better his own home! He has been 6 weeks w/ a family who had NO fence and he is a good house dog, but needs exercise, so we would love a fenced yard for him! He is strong when walking on leash. (Less)

She may be 5 to 10 years old...so we will now offer her for our Senior adoption fee of $159....so sweet w/ the baby....just needs more stucture....low energy....just wants to be loved & to smell the flowers ! Letter from Nellie::(daisy) Hi guys, my name is Nellie and I'm a hound mix. I'm a very calm and gentle dog. My foster parent said I almost have a basset hound disposition because my favorite thing to do is lay on a cozy dog bed and just watch you. I'm not a big leash walker but I would like a yard where I could enjoy the sun and smell the flowers. ... (Read More)I'm a very content girl. A milkbone and a cozy bed make me smile, especially if I can be around you. Yessir, easy living - that's the life for me. My foster parents have two cats and a dog. I get along great with them and I'm really sugar-sweet. I will share my food, water, or toys - anything. I will wag my tail when you come home because I'm so glad to see you. Is your home pretty calm and do you happen to have a spot with a sunbeam? I would love that. I'm only 5 years young and I'm so mellow... I'm not really the kind of dog you would have to chase because I'm a homebody. I am dreaming of my forever home. Could it be with you? *********************************************************** Nellie was adopted 3 years ago...re-named Daisy. She lived w/ a couple who had a home w/ no fence & she is not fond of walking on leash. She is about 40 lbs....she was dearly loved by her foster, who may be able to take her back when she returns from a trip. Nellie's tongue hangs out a bit because we found she is missing all her lower teeth. We will add more when we have had her in our homes again ! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Foxhound in North Carolina
Foxhound Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The American Foxhound is a fierce pack hunter with a gentle and affectionate disposition when among people. Foxhounds are especially sociable with other dogs. This breed is a natural hunter and is not a good choice for a household with pets other than dogs. American Foxhounds are generally good with children. Some are very protective and others are friendly toward strangers. The American Foxhound can be somewhat difficult to housebreak, will follow interesting scents, and may take off after squirrels, etc. These dogs are best suited to a home with some acreage.
